Hey there Besties. Not sure how much fun this winter has been so far especially if you live in parts of the South, but this month's Monthly Musings is all about Winter Fun and prepping for Valentine's Day. If you are linking up with us, please link back to my page and then try to visit as many of the participants pages that you can. If you are here as a reader, be sure to stop by the other sites that link-up today as there are some great women writers who participate every month.
1. Decribe your winter so far in one word
Icy
2. What winter activities have you never tried but want to?
I think I would really like to try snow shoeing. I don't know why but it sounds really peaceful to me. I am not much of a hiker or even outdoors person but snow shoeing sounds like a Good workout and a fun way to hang with friends.
3. Favorite winter beverage
For non-alcoholic I love a peppermint mocha at Christmas and for my Nespresso I love the Rich Chocolate or Cafe' Joyeaux. For an adult beverage, I love a hot toddy. I tend to crave them when I think I am getting sick.
4. Least favorite winter chore?
Shoveling. Shoveling is hard and I am not Good at it.
5. Soup or chili? Share a recipe if you would like.
I love them both. Here is my favorite soup recipe. I have two favorite chili recipes. They are here and here.
6. Dark chocolate, milk chocolate, both, neither?
I love all chocolate. I even like white chocolate.
7. Share your Galentine's or Valentine's plans
Not sure what we are doing yet, but since Valentine's Day is a Saturday I am thinking about getting the crab cakes from Wegmans and doing a fun dinner at home.
8. Do you dress festive for Valentine's Day?
I typically wear something red or pink but that is about it.
9. Do you make any sweet treats or Valentine's Day?
I may make a pan of brownie or M & M cookies with the Valentine's Day minis but that is about it.
10. What is your love language?
I am an act of service gal. Thankfully Running Daddy's is the same.
That's it for January. I also provided the dates and topics for all of ` 2026 for planning purposes.

I agree -- shoveling is the worst! And I dislike ice as well, having fallen on it while walking a few times. I've never had a hot toddy and would like to try one.
ReplyDeleteA hot toddy is so Good. Be careful on the ice Natasha!
DeleteFun winter questions! I love dressing in red or pink on Valentine's too :)
ReplyDeleteJust a touch of red or pink always works. :)
DeleteSnow shoeing is quite a workout! I love it though. You need at least 6 inches of ground cover to use them so this is the first winter in a long time that we've had enough to break out snowshoes out. I try never to discriminate against any kind of chocolate either.
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting this fun link party! I loved the topic and prompts this month. I think snowshoe-ing would be peaceful, too. I love a Hallmark movie that's set in Europe somewhere; in it the couple is doing this, and it looks so peaceful and beautiful where they were. I am not good at shoveling either, but I don't have to do that too often, thankfully!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenn! I appreciate you stopping by.
DeleteHello, there. I am coming over from Slices of Life!! What a fun post. I love this. I may jump in and share on my blog if that is okay?! As a hiker, I would love to try snowshoeing.
ReplyDeleteLove to have you join us in Janaury and every month!
