Hey there Besties, we are halfway through the week. I am currently in my busy season but wanted to jump into Wednesday Hodgepodge with Joyce for a little mid-week fun.
1. This week's Hodgepodge lands on 'Back To The Future Day'. October 21, 2015 was the date the movie characters (Marty McFly, Doc, and Jennifer Parker) traveled to in the future in the 1989 film Back To The Future Part 2.
Did you see the movie? Tell us a something about what was happening in your life in the fall of 2015.
We have watched the Back to the Future series many times in our household. In October 2015, I was working and balancing family and work obligations. Hockey Guy was in elementary school so I am sure I was in an ice rink most weekends in 2015.
2. Which -ber month is your favorite? (September, October, November, December). Explain why.
Do I have to choose just one? I can find something amazing in all of them!
September is when summer starts to wind down and we get hints of nicer weather here in Virginia.
October starts to really feel like fall and all of the fall colors and flavors come out.
November is when I feel like things start to slow down a little bit. I am also not sure there is anything more beautiful than an early morning or early evening November sky. If you are not familiar with what I am referring to, take a look next month and hopefully you will see the beautiful purple skies we have here in November.
December...the show is on. I am all about December and getting ready for Christmas. I love it all.
3. Red, yellow, orange, bronze...your favorite fall color to wear? To eat? To see in nature?
My Best fall color is a burgundy red, which thankfully is very in this year.
For nature, I love them all. Here are a few photos of the planter boxes I worked on this weekend that embrace the fall colors.
You can find these cute little globe solar lights here. They make me so happy.

4. What do you miss most about being 20?
I think if I had to miss anything about being 20 years old it would be campus life. It was really fun to live in the dorm. run into friends on campus and meet friends for dinner at the dining hall.
5. We're roughly three quarters of the way through the year. What's one goal, habit, or mindset you want to purposely carry into the final weeks of the year? Elaborate.
This has been a very hard year and the summer was at times almost unbearable. Part of it is just the season of life I am in and some of it is honestly just a very hard year.
The one thing I want to continue to carry into the end of the year is a little more quiet and less 24 hour news cycle in the background. I don't need to hear the same thing on tv hour after hour. It causes me anxiety and if there is something news worthy I need to know for work, I can catch it in the morning, during lunch or on the way home.
Candles and soft music in the morning and when I get home at night has been amazing source of comfort the last couple of months. When something like this is working, I need to continue with it.
