Here we are at the end of September Besties. The calendar and hopefully the temperatures in your are saying that it is finally fall. I am so excited to join my co-host Holly and the other talented writers who join us every month as we embrace fall for Monthly Musings. Grab a pumpkin spice latte and join us as we chat Fall Decorating and Fashion Preview.
If you are linking up with us today, just grab our logo, link back to the both of us and follow the question prompts.
1. How do you decorate for fall?
I typically decorate using items that I already have and then add in a few new items every year. I use both faux flowers and pumpkins and then also try to add in real pumpkins and gourds too.
I typically decorate the living room, dining room, family room and a little bit in the kitchen. I don't go overboard, I feel like I strike the right balance.
Here are two posts from previous year highlighting our fall decor.
Here is last's years indoor fall decor post.
This post from 2022 is another look at the fall decorating at our house.
2. Halloween decor yes or no?
I would say that I decorate more for fall so that I can have the decorations up longer and then add in touches of Halloween.
3. Pumpkins, corn stalks or hay bales?
I am all about pumpkins but don't go overboard. I am not sure I have ever used corn stalks in decorating. Sometimes Running Daddy will use hay bales when he is putting together the Spooky Walk.
4. Favorite fall fashion pieces?
For work, I love a Good dress and tights. I am currently struggling trying to find dresses I like. Sigh.
For casual in the fall I love jeans and an ankle boot.
5. How do you transition your wardrobe?
I always transition my wardrobe slowly no matter what the season. At Labor Day I put all of my very summery items away and now I am just working with some transitional pieces. It also means I feel like I am wearing all the same thing every week. Anyone else have that feeling?
6. Do you decorate inside and out?
Yes, I decorate the house for fall inside and out. For outside I usually do mums in planters. Probably this weekend I need to at least take all of the overgrown and dead plants from summer out of the planters and then if I have time replace them with fall plants.
This post is from last year and shows how I typically do my fall plants.
10. What makes your house feel cozy for fall?
It feels cozy for fall in our house when I have a pumpkin spice coffee, a great blanket, a pumpkin muffin and a great movie or college football game on.

I love changing my home when it's fall. Like changing the cover of my Ektorp couch, changing the curtains and adding Fall decorations.
ReplyDeleteNicole, I love that you change up the cover on your couch and curtains! Thanks for stopping by today. Happy fall!
DeleteI will check out Black Honey from Clinique. I'm always looking for good neutral browns (I wear those hues year round). The cleaning scents sound good. Thanks for the link up!
ReplyDeleteThanks Maria. Clinique has been making Black Honey for decades. It is super popular. Let me know what you think.

DeleteI am all decorated for Fall, but unfortunately the weather does not want to cooperate. I am so ready to turn off my air conditioning but it is still in 70s and 80s here in PA. Have a wonderful week and thanks for hosting the link up party!
ReplyDeleteYou are so welcome Jennifer. I too am ready for real fall. It seems like it is slow to show up this year.
DeleteI absolutely feel that way with the transitional items; especially this year as the warmer weather seems to be sticking around longer. That oatmeal cookie smelling candle sounds perfect for fall.
ReplyDeleteFall is coming slowly here too. I am so ready for real fall.
DeleteYour simple but elegant fall decor is inspiring to me. I appreciate the tip on the Mrs Meyers products - I'll look for that scent. Thanks for the fun link-up!
