Friday Favorites: New Hair, Fall Fashion, Best Charity and Go Red Sox

Wow! It finally feels like fall. It might even feel like late fall out there. On this lovely autumn week, I am linking up with The Blended BlogErikaNarci and Andrea for Friday Favorites for a quick list of what is bringing me Joy.

1) New Hair

I feel like I spend a lot of time on this blog talking about my hair lately. The truth is, I was not born with Good hair so I really need to work at it with a Good cut with Good products. Last Saturday was time to go in and get some maintenance done on the melon, and I decided to go a little shorter. The back of my hair was past my shoulders when I went in and while it looked Good, when you have fine hair it can start to look a little stringy.

We decided to go with a length just as my shoulders, more layered bangs around the face, and some layers at the crown. I can also flip out the back but I have not done that yet. Here is the post salon result:

I normally do not curl my hair, I frankly don't even own a curling iron, so here is how I styled my hair this week.

2) World Central Kitchen

Last year I mentioned how much I admired the work that chef Jose Andres was doing to help the hurricane and flooding victims both in Houston and Puerto Rico. Well, he is out there helping again in both Hurricanes Florence and Michael.  Chef Andres team has already served 300,000 meals to those impacted by Hurricane Florence and 45,000 meals to those in need from Hurricane Michael. I really feel like when you make a donation to his charity it really does Good for people. I think this will be our charity of choice now for natural disasters going forward. 3) Organic Girl Greens

I started buying the Organic Girl Greens over the summer and I really like them. I think they stay fresher Better than almost any brand I have tried.  I am not sure if it is their packaging or what, but they seem to be the only salad greens that really don't get gross like the minute I bring them home. I buy them at Harris Teeter but I know that Whole Foods sell them too.

4) Fall Outfit

Fall has really hit our dear city this week. It actually went from being very summer like for a long time to feeling more like late fall all of a sudden. There really wasn't any easing into it. As I am out and about at lunch or riding in a cab to and from meetings I am loving seeing people in their fall outfits. People really seem to be excited it's fall.

I really needed some new skirts for fall. Is it me or are the skirt lengths really confusing? A maxi skirt doesn't look Good on me and I feel like the shorter skirts are just way too short. I found a couple of the midi length skirts at Loft that were not too long and had a great Aline.

I paired this skirt  from Loft with this super cute side tie shirt from J Crew Factory and my Franco Sarto shoes . It was a really Good outfit for fall and one that I think will be on repeat. Even Better, that shirt is big time on sale right now.

5) Big Papi and the Red Sox

I am a Red Sox fan and I do not apologize. David Ortiz aka Big Papi is my favorite Red Sox of the modern era, so much so that since his retirement last year I am having trouble finding a replacement for him. Big Papi and I have shared many years together and he is going to be hard to replace as my favorite. His reaction to Jackie Bradley Jr. grand slam the other night is exactly why I love him. He wrote on his Facebook page "this is what happens when you love the Red Sox...now I understand." Now watch this if you have not seen it:

I am watching the Red Sox as I am typing this post...I am nervous but hopeful as any Red Sox fan would be. Go Red Sox!

That's what I have for you this week. We have a big weekend with our 5K race at school that Running Daddy helped to create and yes, Good Better Best is sponsor!

Have the Best fall weekend.
