This week actually flew by. Back today to link up with Erika, Narci, and Andrea for Friday Favorites. Here's what I am finding Joy in this week.
1) When the urgent lines are short:
I woke up crazy early Saturday morning with my head pounding and totally stuffed up. I have been fighting this for over a week and knew it was time for me to get some Better meds. When Hockey Guy woke up, I told him he should eat a quick breakfast and get dressed because he needed to go to urgent care with me before they got too busy. Running Daddy was going to be at the track meet all day, so I needed my urgent care companion. I mentioned that we needed to get there early before the sprained ankles from soccer and fall ball got there!
We got there right about 9:30 a.m. and were in and out in an hour, including them filling my prescription on site. Whew...that was fast and I got what I needed.
As we were leaving there was a kid around Hockey Guy's age with an ice pack on his face in his baseball uniform...poor guy! Hockey Guy looked at the baseball player and then looked at me and said "How do you know this stuff? How did you know there would be injuries this morning from sports?" Moms just know these things, don't we?
2) Free Coffee:
After we left urgent care, I told Hockey Guy he deserved a donut. He made a different choice that day than our usual Dunkin run and went with Krispy Kreme. As we were checking out, the the woman who worked there offered me a free coffee...any size I wanted. It was such a nice offer and I know that this was part of their National Coffee Weekend but it was so what I needed at that moment. Free coffee was pure Joy.
After I got back from urgent care, I spent some time couch surfing and had a large, warm caregiver. Our lab Stormy was basically on top of me all afternoon. He is the Best. How do they know we are sick?

4) Halo Top:
So I have been hearing a lot about Halo Top. You know that tasty low calorie ice cream that is supposed to be only like 300 calories even if you eat the whole pint. While I was intrigued I was also a little worried. Often times when I have tried food like this, it has resulted in shall we say...gastric upset. And friends, you know that's not Good. So I was actually alone in a grocery store last night and took a Good look at the ingredients and thought then that I would give it a try. I chose Birthday Cake.
While I didn't eat the whole pint. maybe just a scoop. I have to report that it's really Good. Now I know what all the fuss is about. I totally get it. Have you tried Halo Top?
A pair of leopard shoes can really make an outfit pop, and in some ways are a neutral. These shoes are the perfect height and are actually comfortable. I wore the shoes with this dress and it really gave this outfit some interest.
