If you are linking up with us today, please use the link below and then link back to my page. Let's go find some Halloween fun.

1. Do you celebrate Halloween?

Yes, I enjoy Halloween and it is definitely part of our family and neighborhood.

Monthly Musings August 2026: Cleaning and Life Hacks

Hey there Besties! Thanks for your patience with me having to put the July Monthly Musings on pause. If you missed yesterday's post, I've linked it here and it explains a bit why I had to take a break in late July. This Monthly Musings comes at a perfect time, because I could use a little help in the cleaning and life hack area.

Be sure to check in with the other ladies who participate in Monthly Musings as I am sure they will have some Good tips too. I cannot wait to see what the other ladies share. Are you ready for Monthly Musings? I am!

Monthly Musings June 2026: Happy Birthday America 250

I am looking forward to Monthly Musings this month and not for the reasons why you might think. Even though I am the host, I could use a little inspiration myself when it comes to the Fourth of July and America 250 this year. When I was drafting the topics for Monthly Musings earlier this year, a focus on America 250 was a must. Now that we are weeks away, I am a little stumped for how I want to celebrate. It could be that I have my second sinus infection in as many months. A sinus infection definetly gets in the way of any sparks of inspiration.

Since I seem to need a burst of creativity for America 250, I am glad Monthly Musings is today. Hopefully the writers that link up with my can help get the ball rolling on my Fourth of July plans. I will do my Best, despite my annoying congestion to share some red, white and blue with you as well.

1. Are you excited about America 250?

I love the idea that our country is 250 years old. It is such a cool thing. I am struggling a little bit because I feel that because I work in Washington, DC and l live right near Mount Vernon, I should somehow be more excited about America 2501.

There are definitely some cool events over the next few weeks. We were supposed to go see Martina McBride this evening on the National Mall as part of the concert series to celebrate the Semiquincentennial but things went sideways when the artists thought they had signed onto one type of event but it was shaping up to be somethings else. No Martina tonight. I am sad because we had a fun group going and Running Daddy has never seen her live. Welcome to what it is like living in Washington, DC.

Hello Monday-Fall Home Decor Part 2

Happy Monday Besties. I hope you had a Good weekend.  Even though I happen to be watching a Christmas movie as I work on this post, we are still embracing fall at our house. Today I am linking up with Holly  and Sarah for Hello Monday and continuing my fall home decor tour. Today I am taking you outside for the simple ways that I added fall touches to our house. If you missed part one you can check it out here.

My outdoor fall decor started with the orange and yellow mum that Dancing Granny gave me. I then added in the yellow mums in the tall planters. For some reason I find that the yellow mums last longer but it could just be my imagination.

Hello Monday--Fall Home Decor Part 1

Hey Hey Monday. Did you have a Good weekend? We had the perfect fall weekend with some football, grilling, a little church, some soup making and his and hers acupuncture appointments. Today I am taking you on a little tour of my fall decorations for our house that I love this year. I feel like we have not had much of a fall this year weather-wise, but inside our home has all the fall feels. The Best part is several of the items I used this year are from rummage sales and our local Buy Nothing site. I will point out what those items are as we go along.

I am excited to link up with Sarah and Holly  for Hello Monday and share my fall home tour with you. If you are ready, pour a hot cider or pumpkin spice coffee and join me for our fall house tour!

Parmesan Chicken Tenders with Creamy Honey Dijon

These chicken tenders are super easy to make and were the perfect after work, after school but before sports dinner the other night. They come together really easily and you probably already have everything to make these in your kitchen right now.

I served these with a simple roasted veggie mix and the veggie pasta from Birdseye and dinner was on the table in about thirty minutes. This recipe is the essence of Good Better Best food.
