Happy Halloween Besties! While I may already be watching Hallmark Christmas movies, I am ready to have the trick-or-treaters stop by tonight. Holly and I are super excited that Monthly Musings falls on Halloween and we can share all of the Halloween and Fall Fun with you. Grab your favorite Halloween candy and join us for Monthly Musings!
1. What Do You Usually Do for Halloween?
Our house is going to be a little more low-key this year for Halloween but we did get a few festive items up. Our neighbors typically come over and we give out candy together.
2. Favorite Fall Traditions
While it is not necessarily a fall event, this event happens in the fall. Eleven years ago Running Daddy helped to found a 5K race at Hockey Guy's school. All these years it is still going strong!
I love both Milky Way and Snickers, but if they are both in a bowl and can only take one, I am taking the Milky Way every time. I think I like Starburst Better than Skittles.
4. Trick-or-Treat or Host a Party?
I am all about trick-or-treating. Halloween parties are fun, but I love it when the trick-or-treaters stop by.
5. Handout Candy or Go With Trick-or Treaters?
I love to be at the house and give out candy. Running Daddy always went with the group throughout the neighborhood. I just love it when the kids come by and nothing melts my heart more than a preschool Disney princess or superhero!
6. Do You Trick-or -Treat on October 31 or on a Different Day?
This was my question and I know that some areas trick-or-treat on different days and some people do a trunk-or-treat, so I am so curious about what people do around the country. We always have trick-or-treating on October 31. Be sure to leave your trick-or-treat traditions in the comments below.
7. Do You Decorate for Halloween?
We do some decorating outside, although this year is a bit more low-key. I really love our fall decor inside this year. You can see all of my fall decor here.
8. What Do You Do With Leftover Halloween Candy?
I am not going to lie Besties, we totally eat the leftover Halloween candy in our house.
9. What Are Your Trick-or-Treat Hours?
Things usually kick off around 6pm and then I am usually closing things up right around 8:15 pm. I think it's the perfect amount of time.
Sidenote, I am also really Good about older kids trick-or-treating at our house. In my opinion, you are never too old for Halloween and I would rather have older kids trick-or-treat at my house than do other things that night that could get them into trouble.
10. What Do You Have for Dinner on Halloween?
One year I made the epic mistake of ordering pizza on Halloween. The wait was two hours, never again.
This year, I bought a gluten-free Udi's lasagna for Halloween. It can cook up while we are giving out candy and then Running Daddy and I can enjoy it later in the night.
That's it for the Halloween fun! Please be sure to check out the other writers who link-up with us for Monthly Musings.
Are you and your neighbors doing your haunted trail between the houses? Loved reading about that but totally get how it may be more low key this year- we have the same taste in candy- no surprise :)
ReplyDeleteCompletely agree about teens and trick or treating- if you are dressed up, no judgement from me and I will give you candy! The hours for trick or treating here are always only two hours which is kind of nice, especially with school the next day when the 31st is during the week as it is this year. Thanks for the link up!
ReplyDeleteThat is wonderful that the 5K is still going on all these years later!
