Happy Friday everyone! I hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th of July. We were at home for the first time in 10 years. It was a total change of pace but a lot of fun. Change can be Good. Back at the Friday Favorites and linking up with Erika, Narci and Andrea talking some summer time favorites.
1) Reba McEntire live, in concert
Sunday night we headed to one of our favorite outdoor concert venues to see the one and only Reba McEntire. She was nothing short of amazing. It was so very hot, but it was such fun. That woman is a performer. I cannot imagine how hot she was in her silver spangle top considering it was 100 degrees because I was wearing running clothes. Keep in mind, I don't normally wear running clothes to a concert, but running clothes and a pony tail was the only Good wardrobe option for those of us not singing Take it Back onstage.
Hockey Guy didn't really know her music but half way through the first song looked at me and with a big smile on his face said "she is so Good." Yes, yes she is.
Speaking of Good, the Best moment came of course at the encore. There is only one song Reba needs to sing at the encore and that's Fancy. Not only is that my favorite Reba song, it's in my top five favorite songs. It was even playing when I was stranded for the night in Iowa last week when I had dinner at the Bass Pro Shop. Running Daddy always says I need an elderly rescue chihuahua and name it Fancy.
Reba wore this same exact dress on Sunday night. Holy smokes she looked Good. This woman is in her 60's and looks and sounds amazing.
2) Sunscreens
Ok, in slightly more boring but very important, I am talking sunscreens. Due to my health issues, I have to be very careful in the sun. I literally wear 50 to 70 SPF when I go to the pool or beach.
We are using a variety of SPF products in the Good Better Best household but seem to really be focusing on Sun Bum and Neutrogena products.
Sprays
Sprays are just so darn easy. I really like the Beach Defense one by Neutrogena. I have also found the banana smell of Sun Bum is a fun way to get kids to put on sun screen when they don't want to.

Stick
We need to layer on with stick in our house. Hockey Guy is like me and he will tan through SPF 50 but his cheeks get so red. I really have to work on him to use the stick. He does seem like this one by Neutrogena. It has a light smell and is easy to use.

If you are looking for a mineral option, try this one by Sun Bum. We have that one in our pool bag too.

Face
Speaking of mineral sunscreens, I am totally trying to get Better and convert to them. We are liking both the mineral options by Neutrogena and Sun Bum.

3) Seltzer water
Over the past few weeks I have had a thing for bubble water. I am really Good about drinking plain water but a little seltzer this summer is so refreshing. Favorites include the strawberry by Bubbly and the grapefruit by Spindrift. I am currently being oh so fancy drinking a Pellegrino.
Ok, I just splurged and bought myself this bag. About 15 years ago I bought a Dooney & Bourke tote at the outlets and it was one of the Best bags I have ever owned. I mean I am still thinking about it. This one I bought in elephant (a light grey) is perfect for both summer and the cooler months. Has awesome pockets and a long hook for your keys. If you are looking for a Good structured bag, you might want to splurge too and grab this one. Keep an eye out for coupons and specials.

These gluten free cheesy Goodness crackers are my new go to snack. Salty, cheesy, low in carbs and high in protein. All Good if you are into that. I got a big bag of single portions at Costco this weekend.
That's what I have for this Friday. Be sure to leave me any summer concerts you are attending this year or your favorite sunscreens in the comments below.
Patty! I am so with you with the spray sunscreen- I apply it more often on my girls in case I miss spots BUT soo so much easier AND I am all about the seltzers this summer too! I like the Polar ones- especially orange vanilla and toasted coconut- they keep water interesting- hope you have a great weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteI think Polar Ones are easier to find in New England because they are from Maine? The coconut one sounds so Good. We have the lemon ones at my work. Hope you have a Good weekend!
ReplyDeleteTry the cherry flavored Bubbly!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I haven't tried that one yet. I will put the cherry on my must try list. Thanks for taking the time to comment Karen!
