I am happy to be back with Holly for Monthly Musings and we have a fun one for you today. This month we are talking All Things Halloween. I am so looking forward to reading the other posts about favorite Halloween traditions, movies and of course the candy. If you are not in the habit of visiting the other writers who link up with us, please try to choose at least two to visit this week.
Let's get down to Halloween business!
1. Favorite Halloween Traditions--Think Back if You Have Littles
For over a decade Running Daddy and our neighbor have built a Spooky Walk every Halloween. The decorations are Spooky but not scary.
I love to give out candy.  I am a total sucker for a Disney princess or Woody the Cowboy. Seeing all the littles on Halloween is one of my favorite things to do.
I totally come up short on this one. I usually did something really easy for dinner.
Tomorrow night we will probably order Uber Eats when we are finished giving out candy.
3. What Do You Typically Do on Halloween?
Now that it is just the two of us at home, we have our neighbors over and we all give out candy.
Then as the night is wrapping up I will go in and watch a Hallmark Christmas movie.
4. Do You Carve or Paint Pumpkins?
We always carved our pumpkins. I have never painted pumpkins. Besties, I am not much of a crafter.
5. Favorite Halloween Candy?
Honestly, I cannot choose just one candy. How about my top three? My top three would be Reese's, Milky Way and Haribo Gummy Bears.
6. What Are You Giving Out for Halloween?
I am not going to lie to you, I spent way too much time in Walmart the other night overthinking what bags of mixed candy to buy. I looked at the gentleman next to me, who was taking the same care looking at every bag of mixed candy. I looked at him and said "picking out this candy is serious business, isn't it." He laughed.
We have a little bit of everything. I like to have a mix of both chocolate and fruity options.
7. Full-size or Fun-size?
I always go with fun-size so that I can allow the kids to make multiple selections. I do love the houses that give the full size too and we are toyed with that idea.
8. Favorite Halloween Costume of All Time?
It's not mine, it's Hockey Guy's. Is there anything cuter than four-year-old Woody the Cowboy?
9. Favorite Halloween Movies
I feel like I have watched fewer Halloween movies this year and I am kind of bummer about it. Here are our favorites.
Halloween
Hocus Pocus
Hotel Transylvania
Spooky Buddies
October Kiss (Hallmark)
Great Pumpkin
Sleepy Hollow
10. What are the Trick or Treat Hours Where You Live?
Things typically start around 6:15 p.m. with the really little kids and then we are typically finished by 8:00 p.m.
I hope this edition of Monthly Musings is getting you ready for Halloween tomorrow. I appreciate you stopping by.

That is a very adorable 4 year old Woody the Cowboy! I feel like kids costumes have come such a long way since I was a kid.
ReplyDeleteI love how meticulous you were with picking out candy- it is kinda stressful- you want to make sure you are pleasing all the kids right? Ahhh- I love how you start your Hallmark movies after Trick or Treating- thanks for the inspiration ;)
ReplyDeleteI feel like Halloween has exploded over the past few years and now it seems to last a week! My oldest daughter also has two with birthdays the same week as Halloween, so there is a lot of celebrating at the end of October here. That Woody costume is cute! Happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link up- fun questions and a great opportunity for us whose days of having "littles" are in our rear view mirror reminisce a bit :). Your son looks so cute in his costume!! We usually pass out candy with neighbors, too, on Halloween. Have a great day!
