Oh October, what are you doing to us? This has not been the easiest month for us from when the calendar flipped over. We are all ok, but wow October you are not been all that nice. For now, I am going to try to find little pieces of happy to share this month by linking up for What's Up Wednesday with Shay and Shaeffer. Let's do this.
What We're Eating This Week
Keeping it real, I have not done any meal planning this week. It is probably going to bite me in the backside this week when I get home from work, but I am keeping it real.
What I am Reminiscing About
Lately, I am remincing about these two guys. For very different reasons.
This guy, the cutest four-year old Woody the Cowboy. I know I post these photos every year, but can you blame me?
What I'm Loving
It's finally fall in Virginia and I am loving it. We got a few nights ovwe have true er the last two weeks where we could slipped with the windows cracked, which I love so much. This week it's true fall with crisp mornings, heated seats, and sunny days.
What We've Been Up To
I am not going to lie to you Besties, this has not been the easiest month. We are all ok, but there has been too much to deal with this month. I may share more about this in a bit. Hopefully November will be Better.
What I'm Dreading
I am not really dreading anything right now. The only thing might be that if the government shutdown continues, I am worried/dreading any airline delays as we all have flights next month.
What I'm Working On
I am working on a big event at work next month that is always very cool. This is the third time I have done this event, so hopefully it is feeling easier. Cross your fingers for me.
I am also trying to get back into a more regular cadence of writing on this site. I may have to work more in the morning as I am getting home later than I would like lately.
I am also trying to find more ways to get a walk in during the day. I rarely leave my desk and that is not Good. Even a mile walk when I get home if I can would be a plus.
What I'm Excited About
It has been so fun to watch Hockey Guy play college hockey. Thank heavens for livestreaming. It's really been the upside to this stinktastic month.
I am also really proud of Running Daddy who completed his 39th marathon this weekend.
What I'm Watching/Reading
Running Daddy and I are deep into Murdaugh: Death in the Family on Hulu. This is based on the reporting and podcast by Mandy Matney. I have mentioned Mandy's podcast leading up to the trial, but I will say it again, Mandy is what a journalist should be. This is such a Good series.
I caught the The Woman in Cabin 10 over the weekend. It was fine. It had a few twists and turns and Good to fold laundry to.
Oh the Real Housewives of Potomac. They help kick off my week. I am so amused by the ladies. Anyone else playing detective to see what supposedly stolen items Wendy is still wearing?
This season of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake is absolute perfection. I love the Mary and Angie friendship and I when I forget the Mary may or may not have run a cult, I really love her lately. I am fascinated my Britani (correct spelling of her name) and honestly, if he wasn't an "Osmond" she would not be chasing this guy.
We are rewatching The Summer I Turned Pretty. It is such an interesting rewatch now that we know everything. For the record, I have been Team Conrad since season 1 episode 1.
It is also time for Countdown to Christmas on the Hallmark Channel. I am literally watching a Christmas movie at 5 am and drinking coffee with Running Daddy while writing this post. This is one of my favorite things to do.
What I'm Listening To
Life of a Showgirl on repeat. Anyone else? I would bet money that "Honey" and/or "Wish List" will be in The Summer I Turned Pretty movie when the time comes.
What I'm Wearing
This month I was back on the shoe project to get fall shoes that don't hurt my plantar fasciitis. There have been a lot of shoes coming in and out of our house. I did get two really cute pairs of shoes by Aerosoles that are perfect for work and casual outfits. These two are both crazy comfortable.
Both of these shoes run true to size.
Speaking of cute and comfortable, I am also obsessed with Quince cotton cashmere. I have this grey cardigan and I have worn it to work and I also think it will look cute with jeans. While it is cotton, it has a touch of cashmere that makes it soft and slightly warm for a chilly fall day.
If you are interested in saving $20 on your first Quince purchase, email me at goodbetterbestfood@gmail.com and I will send you a discount link.
What I'm Doing This Weekend
Since Friday is Halloween, I will be giving out candy with our neighbors on Friday night. The rest of the weekend is still up in the air.
What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month
We will be going to Hockey Guy's college town in a few weeks to see a football game and watch him play in two home hockey games. I am so excited. It's going to be a great weekend.
I am also looking forward to my work event coming up next month.
Most of all, I can't wait for Thanksgiving week to have Hockey Guy home for an entire week.
What Else is New
I think I have covered everything. Don't forget to join us tomorrow for Monthly Musings.
Hope to see you back here tomorrow.

Ummm yes to "The Life Of A Show Girl"- we are devouring it- love every song! I need to check out that Murdaugh series on Hulu- thanks for the reminder. Wishing you a wonderful November XO
