Hey there Besties! I stepped away for a few weeks and I am glad to be back. I have been knee deep in work and we were in Chicago for a hockey tournament this past weekend. Life is busy, but Good. Today's post has quite a bit of coffee for all of us coffee lovers, cozy clothes and a totally wild, true crime podcast. Join me for all the cozy as I link up with Erika and Andrea for my Friday Favorites.
1. Kuerig Duo
A few weeks ago I was gifted a Keurig duo to review. The ironic thing is that about two weeks before I received notice for this review our coffee maker died, and we had just purchased a new one. So now we have two new coffee makers. This is a problem I gladly welcome.
We decided to put the Keurig on the bar downstairs. We had been talking about putting a Keurig in our family room but just never got around to it. Because my office is downstairs, a hot beverage near when I am working. is a Good thing. I have K-cups and creamers close at hand for a midday break. I also like it for tea and Hockey Guy has been having a hot chocolate before bed every night.
If you are in need of a new coffee maker, this might be a Good option. The duo would also make a really Good family or couples gift this holiday season.
2. Starbucks Reserve Roastery
We had a hockey tournament last weekend in Chicago. There were 10,000 kids and 500 teams, no joke. Hockey Guy skated hard, learned a lot and had a lot of fun. We also got to see Running Daddy's Uncle Ken. Everyone loves Ken and Hockey Guy and Ken have a special bond.
While Hockey Guy and Running Daddy went to the top of the Hancock building, Ken and I headed to the Starbucks Chicago Roastery, which is the world's largest Starbucks. I know it may seem odd to go to a big Starbucks, but it is nothing like your corner Starbucks. Each floor has something different and it is a destination with very cool design elements.
We thought about, but bypassed the fourth floor that has the boozy coffee because it was pretty early in the day. We opted for the third floor that had coffee flights and other really interesting beverage options. We both decided to have the dark chocolate mochas which had the perfect dark chocolate flavor without the bitterness. Our mochas were also very pretty! For sweets it was a chocolate chip cookie and a dark chocolate salted caramel truffle. We settled into the bar area, seating is hard to find, and just chatted and chilled. It was a delightful afternoon stop that brought me Joy.
If you are in Chicago near the Magnificent Mile, you should really make time to stop in. It's so much more than I thought it was going to be and really had some lovely afternoon options.
3. 32 Degree Velour Set
I took a size small in the top and medium in the joggers

When I travel, I always like to have nicer loungewear with me for napping but also running down to the hotel lobby for coffee in the morning. Dancing Granny and I love the 32 Degree brand and earlier this fall I picked up the velour top and joggers in black. They are buttery soft and I am kind of obsessed with them. They are at a really Good price point and would make an awesome holiday gift.
4. Sweater Poncho
This Addy sweater poncho is a great addition to my wardrobe. It has real sleeves and is sized so that it doesn't wear you. I love how it hangs and moves on the body.
You an also wear this as a cardigan as well. The material is as soft as cashmere but you can machine wash it. I feel great every time I wear it. I think I will be wearing this on repeat during the late fall and into the holiday season.
5. Murdaugh Murders Podcast
Are you familiar with this news story in South Carolina? The son and mom were found dead and then the dad was shot but then survived a few weeks later. A friend of mine told me about this podcast while we were in Chicago and I am now addicted.
Mandy Matney is an investigative reporter who has been covering the Murdaugh family for over five years. She is relentless and a true journalist. Besties, real journalism is not dead. If you like true crime, a little political intrigue and family dynasties, this podcast is for you.
Just a reminder that Holly and I hosting Monthly Musings a week early in November due to Thanksgiving. Monthly Musings will be on November 18 and this month's topic is Holiday Prep. I will have the graphics up early next week.
I hope you have a Good weekend Besties! I am looking forward to a lot of hockey, finally getting some food in this house and snuggling up with the chilly weather. What do you have on tap for the weekend?
I don't even drink coffee and think that Starbucks sounds so neat!
